Why it made our lists

  • Gifts for someone who has everything

A 90-minute guided climb of the Story Bridge with views over Brisbane. For a local who has never done it or a visitor who has done everything else. Brisbane only, and there are age and height minimums.

What it is

A 90-minute guided climb of Brisbane's Story Bridge with safety gear and views over the river and city. Groups are capped at 14.

A guided daytime climb over Brisbane's heritage-listed Story Bridge. Climbers check in at Howard Smith Wharves, get a safety briefing, put on a climb suit and full-body harness, then walk the bridge with a Climb Leader who talks about its history. Groups are small and phones go in lockers, so photos are taken by staff and sold afterwards. Views take in the river, the city, Moreton Bay and the Glass House Mountains. Climbs run seven days a week, rain or shine.
