Why it made our lists

  • Gifts for new parents

Sixteen maple blocks etched with weeks, months and numbers for bump and monthly baby photos. A good pick for parents who already take those photos on their phone. It is a photo prop more than a toy.

What it is

16 maple hardwood blocks, 1.5 inches square, laser-etched with WEEKS, MONTHS, a heart and numbers 0 to 9, finished with beeswax and flaxseed oil. Stack them to show pregnancy weeks or baby's age in photos. Comes in a drawstring bag. Made in Iowa.

A set of 16 small maple blocks for marking pregnancy weeks and a baby's first months in photos. Some blocks are etched with WEEKS and a heart on one side and MONTHS on the other, and the rest carry numbers, with a different digit on each side so double numbers like 11 or 22 can be spelled. The wood is finished in beeswax and flaxseed oil. They are made in Iowa and come in a drawstring bag.
