What it is

A plaster carving kit: a plaster block with a pre-formed bust of David hidden inside, a carving chisel, a wooden mallet and protective craft paper. You chip away the block to reveal the figure.

A carving kit built around a plaster block with a finished bust of Michelangelo's David hidden inside it. The bust is cast in Jesmonite, a hard composite, so you chip away the softer plaster around it with the chisel and mallet until the head is revealed. Craft paper protects the table from dust, and a sticker sheet allows decorating the finished piece. It is a one-sitting project rather than freehand sculpting.
