Gifts for new parentsBest on a budget
Three felted wool dryer balls that replace dryer sheets, which matters when a baby doubles the laundry. Cheap and easy to tuck into a card. They thump around in the dryer and add no scent on their own.
What it is
Three hand-felted organic wool dryer balls with heart designs, in a reusable cotton bag. Toss them in the dryer in place of fabric softener or dryer sheets. The shop says they last up to 1000 loads and help clothes dry faster, cutting dryer energy use by 25%.
A set of three hand-felted wool balls, decorated with hearts, that go in the tumble dryer with a load of laundry. They move around the drum to separate clothes, which the maker says shortens drying time and replaces liquid fabric softener or dryer sheets. They come in a reusable cotton bag for storage. The wool is ethically sourced, and the maker estimates the balls last for up to 1000 loads before they need replacing. They also claim a cut of about a quarter in drying energy.
