Why it made our lists
For a camper who will not give up real coffee at the campsite; it heats water and brews in the same pot. Stainless steel is heavier than plastic, so it suits car camping best.
What it is
A stainless steel French press carafe that can also sit on a camp stove or open flame. The 20 fl oz size is $34.95 (a 40 fl oz size is $39.95). Folding silicone-insulated handles, multi-position pouring lid, stainless press filter and a silicone trivet/pot gripper are included.
A camping French press made entirely of stainless steel, so you can heat the water in it directly over a stove or fire and then press the coffee. The folding handles are wrapped in silicone and pack flat, and the lid turns to control pouring. A silicone trivet that doubles as a pot grip is included. It comes in two sizes.
