Why it made our lists
A ceramic-burr hand grinder for someone who buys whole beans but has no grinder. A few minutes of cranking per brew. Fine for filter and press, less consistent for espresso.
What it is
Hand coffee grinder with ceramic burrs, a 100g bean capacity and an hourglass design in glass, polypropylene and stainless steel. Ceramic burrs are rust-proof and reduce static.
A hand-cranked coffee grinder with ceramic burrs on top of a glass jar that catches the grounds. You load beans in the top, turn the crank, and swap the crank for a lid to store grounds in the jar. The hourglass shape is easier to grip than the older model. All parts come apart for washing and most can be replaced individually.
