Why it made our lists
Gifts for hockey players and fans
For a player who re-tapes the stick before every game. Three rolls of tape, scissors and a tin of wax in one gift. Tape gets used up, so it is a gift that runs out, which is the point.
What it is
Locker-room tape kit: a loaded tape tin with one white, one black and one clear roll, a pair of Howies tape scissors, and a tin of Howies stick wax in pink.
A small locker-room kit for taping a hockey stick. A tape tin holds three rolls of tape in white, black and clear, there is a pair of scissors made for cutting tape, and a tin of scented stick wax in pink. Players wrap the blade and knob of the stick with tape, then rub wax over the blade tape to keep it from soaking up snow and water. The tape gets used up over a season.
