Why it made our lists

  • Housewarming gift ideas

A soft sofa throw that goes in the washing machine on cold. A low-cost first throw for a new living room. Despite the name, the listed material is polyester, not wool.

  • Secret Santa gifts under $50Worth the splurge

A machine-washable sofa throw at the 50 by 60 inch size, in six colours. For the person who is always cold at their desk or on the couch. Despite the name, it is 100% polyester, not wool.

What it is

Soft throw in 50 x 60 inch (this price) or 60 x 70 inch sizes, in black, light grey, light tan, garnet, red or midnight blue. Machine washable on cold.

A soft throw blanket named for its lambswool feel, though the listed material is 100% polyester. It is mid-weight, light enough for a cool summer evening outside and warm enough for the couch in winter. Most colours come in 50 x 60 inches, with light tan and dark chocolate also in a larger 60 x 70. It goes in the washing machine on cold, washed on its own, and the maker suggests a wash before first use.
