What it is

An aluminium clip that mounts on a backpack strap or belt and holds a camera by a quick-release plate. The camera stays within reach while hiking without swinging around.

A metal clip that bolts onto a backpack shoulder strap or a belt and holds a camera rigidly against it, so the camera stays at hand without swinging from a neck strap. A small plate screws into the camera's tripod socket and slides into the clip, which locks it until you press a release button. The clip is machined aluminium with a PVC pad, and it fits straps up to 6.4 cm wide. It comes with the plate, two kinds of bolts and a hex wrench.

Worth knowing

Heavy cameras with big lenses pull on the backpack strap; it suits smaller mirrorless bodies best.

Skip it if the person's bag straps are wider than 6.4 cm, since the clip will not fit.
