Why it made our lists
Kid-sized wireless headphones with volume limiting and long battery life, sold in all four countries. Good for tablet time and car trips. On a loud plane the limited volume can feel too quiet.
Gifts for tweensOur top pick
Kid-sized wireless headphones with volume limiting and up to 45 hours of battery, sold in all four countries. A sensible pair for a tween's tablet and car trips. Older tweens on long flights may find the volume too quiet.
What it is
Wireless over-ear headphones sized for children, with volume limiting and up to 45 hours of battery. Controls are on the ear cup.
Wireless on-ear headphones sized for children's heads, with simple controls on the earcup. They also work wired with the included AUX cable, which is handy for plane seat-back screens. Battery life is long, and ten minutes of charging gives about four hours of use, so a flat battery before a trip is easy to fix. They weigh about 169 g, light enough for long wear.
