A sand timer in a stainless steel and cream frame with three glass vials of coloured sand running for 3, 4 and 5 minutes. Each length matches a strength of brew: the 3 minute vial for a light cup suited to green tea, 4 for white and oolong, and 5 for a stronger cup of black or herbal tea. You flip it when the water goes in and pull the leaves when the sand runs out.
