Why it made our lists

  • Gifts for music lovers

For a beginner guitarist, ukulele or bass player still tuning by ear. It clips on the headstock and reads vibration, with a transpose mode for capos. The coin battery eventually needs replacing.

What it is

A clip-on headstock tuner that senses vibration, with a colour LED display that pivots and rotates. Works on any instrument, has a transpose mode for capo and dropped tunings, calibration from 415-466 Hz, a silent visual metronome and auto power-off after 2 minutes. CR2032 battery included.

A clip-on chromatic tuner that grips the headstock of a guitar, bass, ukulele or other instrument and reads pitch from vibration, so there are no cables or mics. The colour display pivots to face the player and shifts colour from flat to sharp. It includes a silent visual metronome and a transpose mode for capo or dropped tunings. It turns itself off after two minutes idle.

Worth knowing
