Why it made our lists
A water-painting book with ten scenes and a palette printed on each page; the child only adds water. Low mess and good for travel. Each scene is done once, so it does not last.
What it is
A water-painting book with 10 illustrated scenes, each with a paint palette printed on the page. A brush is included; the child only adds water.
A paper painting book from Moulin Roty with ten illustrated scenes of the quirky Schmouks characters. Each page has a built-in palette of dried paint, so a child only needs water and the included brush to colour the picture. Once each page is painted, it is finished. It is a single-use activity book measuring 27 by 22 cm, suited to a rainy afternoon.
