Why it made our lists

  • Gifts for kids

A tube of 240 pieces with instructions for seven dinosaur builds, small enough for a stocking. Skip it for a child under 5 because of the small parts. It makes one model at a time.

What it is

240 Plus-Plus pieces in six colours packed in a reusable tube, with instructions for seven builds including a 3D brontosaurus and raptor and 2D volcano and pterodactyl. Made in Denmark from recyclable polyethylene.

A tube of 240 small Plus-Plus pieces, each shaped like two joined plus signs, that click together to build flat mosaics or three-dimensional models. Instructions cover seven dinosaur-themed builds, including a brontosaurus, raptor and triceratops in 3D and a volcano, pterodactyl and palm tree in 2D, after which the pieces can be used freely. All the pieces store back in the reusable tube, which makes it handy for travel. The pieces are small, so it suits children with steady fingers.
