Why it made our lists

  • Gifts for kids

A 15-minute card game for ages 8 and up with simple addition built in. Kids ready for a bit of strategy will enjoy it. Adults playing on their own will find it thin.

What it is

A card game for 2 to 5 players aged 8 and up that plays in about 15 minutes. Players use kings, knights and magic wands to wake 12 queen cards, with simple addition built in.

A children's card game where twelve queen cards lie face down and players use kings to wake them. Knights steal queens, dragons block knights, potions put queens back to sleep and wands protect them. Number cards can be discarded in pairs or as simple addition sums, which slips in some arithmetic practice. Games are short. Players race to wake a set number of queens.
